Palisades Virtuosi Presents Music of Les Six at New York Library for the
Performing Arts at Lincoln Center on May 24

The critically-acclaimed Palisades Virtuosi will present "Music of Les
Six", a program of chamber music masterworks by this renowned group of
French composers on Thursday, April 24 - 6:00 p.m.  at the Dorothy and
Lewis B.  Cullman Center of the New York Library for the Performing Arts
at Lincoln Center, 40 Lincoln Center Plaza in Manhattan.

This concert will feature music by Francis Poulenc, for which the
Library has the composer's manuscripts.  Works to be performed are Suite
for flute [orig.  violin], clarinet & piano, Op.157b by Darius Milhaud
[corr.  by Palisades Virtuosi], three selections for flute & piano: Aria
by Georges Auric, Pastorale by Germaine Tailleferre and Sonatine, Op.
25 by Louis Durey, Sonata for clarinet & piano by Francis Poulenc, Three
Gnossiennes for solo piano by Erik Satie and Concerto Da Camera for
flute, clarinet [orig.  English horn] & piano by Arthur Honegger [corr.
by Palisades Virtuosi].

The Palisades Virtuosi will return to the New York Library for the
Performing Arts at Lincoln Center on May 31 for a second program of
chamber music masterworks by Les Six, including works by Germaine
Tailleferre for which the Library has the composer's manuscript. 
This program will also feature lecture and commentary by Paul Somers.

The Palisades Virtuosi, consisting of flutist Margaret Swinchoski,
clarinetist Donald Mokrynski and pianist Ron Levy, is a 501 (c)(3)
organization that was established to promote and enrich the repertoire
for flute, clarinet and piano and present concerts that include existing
and newly-commissioned repertoire for this configuration, supplemented
by solos, duos and larger works featuring guest artists.  Volume One of
their New American Masters CD series has been released by Albany Records.
