I have to admit that Beethoven`s 4th is my favourite of the Beethoven
concertos although I do enjoy the Emperor.  I like the way the 4th starts
off, softly and then getting louder, to me this is very effective.  I would
be interested to know what are the list member`s favourite recordings of
this Concerto.  I have Barenboim`s coupled with the Barenboim which I enjoy
and I have just got Gilels on Philip`s Great 20th century pianists, which
I have not listened to yet.  Regards
