Hello everyone,
I've been experimenting with a new format for a classical music website,
and I'd love to get some feedback. The idea is that it would be great
to have a central place to go and get the latest news, videos, recordings
and so forth for an area of interest. I decided to go with cello, but
I could make similar sites for other instruments or groups. Here's the
site:
http://celloroller.com
The front page is what I call the Wall-o-Cello videos. There are about
400 of them there so far! When new videos appear on YouTube, Blip.tv,
MetaCafe or Google Video, they show up on CelloRoller, too.
The next most interesting page is the search page:
http://celloroller.com/search/node/cello
If you look on the right hand side there is a list of famous cellists.
This page is constantly updated with headlines about cellists from all
sources, across the web, and it is a good way to stay up to date with
your favorite cello star.
Any page for an individual headline, recording, or video has comments.
You can subscribe to the feeds via RSS and get updates as they happen.
I hope this is a useful site, and would love to hear your feedback!
Disclaimer: There are advertisements (Google Ads) on the site. If I
can make sites that musicians like and earn money in doing so I can
continue to make sites for musicians.
