PIANIST JEFFREY BIEGEL TO PERFORM LEROY ANDERSON'S PIANO CONCERTO WITH
ALPHONSE STEPHENSON AND THE ORCHESTRA OF ST. PETER BY THE SEA ON AUGUST 6

The internationally renowned pianist Jeffrey Biegel will give another
50th Anniversary performance of legendary composer Leroy Anderson's
Piano Concerto in C with the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea, Maestro
Alphonse Stephenson conducting, on Wednesday, August 6, 7:30 PM, on the
beach at Point Pleasant, New Jersey.

Jeffrey Biegel will also perform the Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major of
Franz Liszt.  The orchestra will present Mozart's Overture to Don Giovanni
and Rimsky-Korsakov's Russian Easter Overture.

This concert will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1953 Premiere
of Leroy Anderson's Piano Concerto.  You can find much more about the

Jeffrey Biegel has played the concerto with the Boston Pops and Maestro
Keith Lockhart in June 2003, in Chicago's Grant Park in 1993, (the first
performance of the concerto there since 1953), then St. Louis, other
orchestras throughout the U.S., Turkey (the Izmir Symphony) and the New
York Premiere with Skitch Henderson and the NY Pops in Carnegie Hall.

Referred to by the legendary Leonard Bernstein as "a splendid musician
and a brilliant performer," pianist Jeffrey Biegel performed the American
premiere of the fully restored original 1924 manuscript of George
Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with the Boston Pops at Symphony Hall in
Boston.  He has subsequently performed this piece with orchestras across
the U.S.  and in Germany.  He has also presented performances from Maine
to California of Ellen Taaffe Zwilich's Millennium Fantasy for piano and
orchestra, a work he commissioned in collaboration with 26 American
orchestras and which was Premiered in September of 2000 with the Cincinnati
Symphony Orchestra, Jesus Lopez-Cobos conducting.  Jeffrey Biegel's

Now in its 15 season, The Festival of the Atlantic, founded by Reverend
Alphonse Stephenson, hosts an average attendance of over 5,000 audience
members each performance.  Held literally on the beach in Pt.  Pleasant
Beach, NJ, The Festival has become a Jersey shore tradition.  The Orchestra
of St. Peter By The Sea is an all-professional, union orchestra of 45
members.  Their Carnegie Hall debut was November 2001.
