I think that many list members would not agree with Gregory's assessment;
Naxos likely would also not agree.  They would submit that Naxos is also
for the well-bankrolled seasoned collector who can obtain some obscure
works not readily available on other labels and some excellent "mainstream"
works just as good as the full-priced alternatives.

In my world, it cuts both ways.  My adult children tend to buy Naxos
recordings because of tight budgets.  My purchase of Naxos cds is entirely
based on considering Naxos as one of the myriad labels to choose from,
price not being significant.

I would assume that Naxos is doing so well because "all" buyers are giving
Naxos strong consideration.
