Dear List Members, I had the privilege of attending The Philadelphia
Orchestra concert this afternoon. Martha Argerich performed the Prokofieff
Third with Dutoit. I've never before encountered such genius from a
performer in a live concert. It was timeless, and one of the most perfect
collaborations I've ever heard. Her power was matched by her subtlety.
Her technique was flawless. Her vision of the work is slightly different
than her earlier recording, but if I venture to dare say, there was *more*
energy, *more* brilliance than ever! I hope those of you who have tickets
for her New York recital (I do not), are as moved as my family and I were
this afternoon. We will never forget this day. Best,

Paul W. Hofreiter
