This is not true of the Piano Concertos.  Slow movement of 26 is the most
simple piece I have ever heard.  27 similarly - its slow movement is
extremely simple yet ambiguous - is it happy or sad?

I don't really know if this is true of the symphonies, but I don't know
them well enough to say.
