To which I reply:

At least two musicians who perform in various small Ontario cities have
told me that they prefer it to big city performance in one respect. 
They can program Bartok, Archer or whomever else they like.  Most of
the people who come to hear them don't know they're supposed to hate
the stuff, so they like it instead.
