Finally the next CD in the MarcoPolo Brian cycle has been released. It
features (as annouced in the last issue of this series, 2 years ago) the
symphonies 11 and 15, the comedy overture *Doctor Merryheart* and the early
piece *For Valour*. The orchestra on all tracks is the National Symphony
Orchestra of Ireland with Tony Rowe and Adrian Leaper as conductors. I
just listened to this one once so far (bought it yesterday) but I dare to
say its a very nice disc! Throughtout you find very entertaining and sort
of positive music, brilliantly orchestrated. The first movement of sym.
11 (adagio) is simply wonderful and alone worth to buy this disc. For more
information on this disc and the composer have a look at the Brian page at
Len Mullengers site
(http://www.musicweb.force9.co.uk/music/brian/index.htm). I hope we do
not have to wait another 2 years for the next release in the Brian cycle!
