Did news(?) of this Incident make it across the Ether to YouS??
Quoted almost verbatim:-

"Auckland, as you may recall, was recently the scene of extreme
wowserism when Ads for the Opera 'Carmen' were condemned for their
   'offensive cleavage'!!

A Christchurch academic, Dennis Dutton, has posted his reply on the
internet in the form of a script for 'Carmen' expunged of inappropriate
role models and such. Act II is particularly good, taking place "in
the smoke-free environment of a vegetarian restaurant".

Act III sees Don Jose & his fellow animal liberationists plot to end
the exploitation of Bulls. The drama ends with Carmen & Jose embracing
and detailing plans "to offer workshops in cultural identity &
   empowerment".

&& What of the Bull?? He WINS. naturally"!! Bizet must be "breaking
the sound barrier" spinning in his grave??? The necessary URL =
