At budget price, I think the Bernstein set is a great buy.  Although he's
considered somewhat controversial in Mahler by virtue of his degree of
emotionalism, I've enjoyed the performances.  The only exception is his
Mahler 4th where he uses a male child for the 4th movement; that didn't
appeal to me at all.  But, at budget price for the entire set, that's a
minor concern.
