There is an interesting piece for wind band by Jere Hutcheson entitled
"Caricatures" where the composer offers up eclectic musical sketches of
Marcel Marceau, Edgar Allan Poe, Emma Thompson, Camille Saint-Saens,
Vincent Van Gogh, Erik Satie, Dorothy Parker, Andy Warhol, and Jackson
Pollock. The work is on a Klavier disc ("Deva View" KCD-11091) played by
the North Texas Wind Symphony under the direction of Eugene Corporon. As
I'm sure many of you know, Klavier has been working on its fabulous wind
series releases for quite some time and they are up to 21 discs now with
two more due out soon, I believe. Just my "two cents" in response to a
"morning ramble."
