Some on this list may recall (from British ITV or American PBS) that the
theme music for the 52-episode series "A Family at War" was an excerpt
from the first movement of Symphony No.  6 by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
Granada TV used the 1949 recording, with Sir Adrian Boult conducting
the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Those of you who remember this excellent series, which ran from 1970
