I think Tibor Serlys reconstruction of Bartoks Violaconcerto make that one
his best work. More contemporary is the second version of it, by Bartoks
son and Paul Neubauer, fom 1995, also a good one. Bartok died a while ago
but if it counts I would suggest it. Serlys reconstruction has been much
critiziced, and it is relatively seldom played, but it is a stunning
beautiful work.

Edmund Rubbra also wrote one dedicate to that Pimpnose.
