Aaron Rabushka asks:

>Is this "Cantatrice Squalante" from the Hoffnung Festival the same as the
>opus Anna Russell excerpts in her discourse on various kinds of singers?
>(The title is lots of fun to say in any case!)

I'm the one who wrote the jokey answer about Toscanini coming out of the
orchestra to conduct 'La Cantatrice Squelante', and I must say, Aaron,
you're on to me. I was just enjoying writing that title. It was *not*
a product of the Hoffnung Festival, Interplanetary or otherwise, but a
creation of Anna Russell's. And yes it's fun to say out loud. Probably
more fun to say that to hear.
