Richter's Shostakovich Preludes and Fugues for the piano are the best I
have ever heard.  Unfortunately, he only ever recorded half of them.  They
are on the Philips great pianists series, I believe.  Jarrett's actually
quite good with them too, but not in the same league as Richter.
