I would suggest obtaining a copy of "The Penguin Guide to Bargain
Compact Discs," published in 1998 - many of the Naxos releases are
reviewed in this excellent source and receive some of the highest
recommendations; conversely, the reviewers down rate those discs not up
to their expectations (cost being a secondary consideration).  In addition,
many other CDs are reviewed on various labels, including the 'double-CD'
packages being released by Philips (and other producers) at 'bargin'
prices.
