Oh, I totally agree with you on this point.  I love to listen Tchaikovsky's
beautiful melodies (6th symphony, first movement, second subject!).

It almost seems to me that there are 2 kinds of people who listen to
classical music: those that love Tchaikovsky and Grieg's Piano Concerto,
and those that do not.  I am clearly a member of the former.

And since I'm writing about the Grieg Piano Concerto, am I just nuts or is
the first movement cadenza as overwhelmingly magnificent as I think it is?
