Recently I walked into a church in Sheringham, North Norfolk, England,
while organ music was being played. After listening for some time and
being quite taken with the work, not wishing to interrupt the organist
I walked behind him on the way out. It transpires that the work was by
Rheinberger's and simply called Passacaglia. Now Rheinberger wrote many
Organ Sonatas and I suspect that was a movement from one such though I
cannot find any movement of this name mentioned in my CD catalogue. Could
some kind person please identify this work (it may be in G/E min.) with
opus no. etc and give me the number of a CD which contains it. Many
thanks.
