Not so long ago I posted on this list a compilation of Immortal
masterpieces in the same class as Fuer Elise, like Rach's prelude in cis,
Boccherini's menuet, and some twelve more compilation-pieces, but that is
perhaps not the original idea.  It will be an impossible task to select
only 20 pieces, it will even be more impossible to get a consensus.  So
I would say, forget about it.
