Ron Chaplin's lament about Tower Records ended:

I've only been to the US once (in 1990) and, in common with other Listers
and primed by extensive experience, I have a nose which can sniff out a
record store within about 500 metres - I recall a wonderful secondhand shop
in New Orleans that looked more like one that sold hunting gear.  I do not
remember seeing or reading anything about Borders.  Other Listers have
referred to it.  I'm intrigued.  Who or what is it, and should I
investigate it?
