I didn't mean to quote Dr. Akima side by side JEG.  I've just wanted to
add something interesting to the debate.  Dr. Akima's excellent notes on
Beethoven's tempi has proved I was right in quoting JEG's notes (to show
what HIP performers think about tempo in Beethoven).  By the way:  I do
agree that Harnoncourt's and Furtwangler's and Kemplerer's Beethoven are
better than Gardiner's.
