you should go to cello.org and post this same question on their instrument
forum.  When I bought my cello, name meant nothing as I simply bought
the nicest sounding cello I could afford. I should tell you I did try
some more expensive ones, but thankfully I liked the sound of the one I
ended up buying, and felt good knowing that I would be paying at least
five times the price for a cello that sounded noticably nicer than mine.
