Parthenia, a Consort of Viols, Presents New Music and Music of the
Elizabethan Age on November 14 at Corpus Christi Church in Manhattan New
York's premier viol consort, Parthenia, will present a program of new
music and music of the Elizabethan Age on Friday, November 14 - 8:00 PM
at Corpus Christi Church, 529 West 121st Street (near Broadway) in
Manhattan.

This concert features the World Premiere of Kristin Norderval's Nothing
Proved, made possible by the Jerome Foundation's Composers Commissioning
Program. This haunting song cycle, with composer Norderval as soprano
soloist, sets the poetry of Queen Elizabeth I in traditional Elizabethan
consort song instrumentation and utilizes interactive software processing
for a 21st-century musical aesthetic. Works by Elizabethan masters for
viols and soprano will complete the program, enhanced by readings by
veteran stage actors Roberta Maxwell and Paul Hecht.

Tickets for the November 14 concert are $35 preferred seating, $25 general
seating, with a limited number of $10 rush tickets available at the door.
For reservations and more information, contact Parthenia at 212-358-5942
or visit them online at http://www.parthenia.org.

Parthenia, which consists of Beverly Au, Lawrence Lipnik, Rosamund Morley
and Lisa Terry, has been hailed by the New Yorker as "one of the brightest
lights in New York's early-music scene," is a dynamic ensemble exploring
the extraordinary repertory for viols from Tudor England to the court
of Versailles and beyond. Known for its remarkable sense of ensemble,
Parthenia is presented in concerts across America, and produces its own
lively and distinguished concert series at Corpus Christi Church in New
York City, collaborating regularly with the world's foremost early music
specialists and has been featured on radio and television and in prestigious
festivals and series including Music Before 1800, Maverick Concerts and
the Regensburg Tage Alter Musik.
