It's a while since I read it, but MMOR has a wealth of anecdotes -
Klemperers's famous reply to Legge over the tempo for his Peasants'
Merrymaking, for example - and interesting factettes: for example, when
John Ogdon was at Abbey Road recording the Busoni Concerto (which he played
throught *twice* in one day) the Beatles were in the next studio working on
Sgt.  Pepper...
