I'm not sure if Bocelli uses a microphone all the time when he sings.
In concerts, microphones are frequently used by everyone singing onstage,
whether it's the Three Tenors, or their various "crossover" gatherings of
singers from different singing genres.

What most people don't seem to know about Bocelli, is that he studied
with Franco Corelli and has been highly praised by Pavarotti for his vocal
gift.  Now that shows how serious Bocelli is about a career as a tenor in
opera.  The man is blind, not deaf.
