BMG has a mid-price series on Russian composers called *Musica non Grata*
based on the Melodya archives.  One of these discs features Ustvolskaya
with the piano concerto, the Octet, the 3rd piano sonata and the Grand Duet
for cello and piano. I think this disc would be a nice introduction to
this music, though I am not sure if this series is available in the US.
