Last month Steve Schwartz posted this review of a Flagello disc. Not
having ever heard of him, I was interested and was fortunate enough to
find the disc in a local shop's used CD bin.  I loved it.  Naturally, I
don't have the ear to note the technical deficiencies that Steve pointed
out, so I was fully pleased.  As noted, the First Symphony will require
further hearings to fully reveal itself to me.  And I found the variations
less challenging but perfectly enjoyable.  The short pieces were fine,
though I heard nothing that reminded me of any of the sea cliffs I have
ever seen.  This disc leads me to wonder where one might turn next in
checking out Flagello.
