Maxim Vengerov is touring Australia, and wowed the audience in Melbourne
with his Beethoven concerto, although he says he's not ready to record it
yet.  I only caught the last movement on the radio but I'd say he's *more*
than ready.  He's also in the market for a baroque violin with the
intention of playing it in the first half of some recitals and then
switching to his faithful Strad for the second.
