I bought _Israel in Egypt_ last week and can endorse the recommendation.
It brought back happy memories of performing the work a couple of years
ago. A word of warning: after listening to most of the first CD I was
on the point of returning it ('this isn't a CD of _Israel in Egypt_!'),
but on listening further and looking at the liner notes I realised what
had happened. I hadn't known of the existence of part 1, a funeral ode
Handel adapted by turning it into a lament on the death of Joseph. The
Novello edition we sang from didn't even include it.
