It used to be quite common for conductors and orchestras to record
under fake names (perhaps because they were recording for a company
other than the one they had a contract with). So an untraceable orchestra
and conductor doesn't necessarily make the whole recording fraudulent,
although I think the practice has more or less died out now so it ought
to look a bit more suspicious these days.
