Music of Meyer Kupferman at Three Upcoming New York City Concerts-
Four Chamber Works in Performances on May 24, May 25 and June 8

New York, NY - The music of Meyer Kupferman will be heard in three
upcoming concerts in New York City:

Tuesday, May 24, 2005, 8PM - Composers Concordance presents two of the
composer's works at the New York University Loewe Theatre, 35 W.  4th
Street (between Washington Square East and Greene Street).  This concert
will feature Moonsticks for solo marimba, performed by Peter Jarvis, and
Five Flicks, performed by Esther Lamneck, clarinet, and Paul Hoffmann,
piano.  The latter is a piece of five contrasting sections, almost movie
vignettes, which show the full range of Kupferman's eclectic style, even
including a hint of klezmer.  Tickets are $12, $8 students, seniors, TDF

Wednesday, May 25, 2005, 8 PM - The Ethos Percussion Ensemble will present
Kupferman's Poetics 1 for percussion and guitar, performed by percussionist
Eric Phinney and guest guitarist at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway.  More

Wednesday, June 8, 2005, 8 PM - Chamber Players of the League/ISCM will
perform Kupferman's Infinities 27 for guitar and flute at Elebash Recital
Hall of The Graduate Center/CUNY, 365 Fifth Ave.  at 34th St.  Flutists
Sue Ann Kahn and Jayn Rosenfeld, guitarist William Anderson and pianist
Christopher Oldfather will present the Kupferman work along with works
by Charles Wuorinen, Vivian Fine, Stephen Jaffe, Tania Leon and others.

New York composer Meyer Kupferman is widely renowned as a creator of
virtuosic experimental & theatrical orchestral and chamber works for
unusual instrumental ensembles.  Several recent 2-CD releases on the
Soundspells label have celebrated this composer's singular creative
voice.  These feature a wide range of Kupferman's masterworks, written
from 1955 through 2002 and ranging from symphonic works to a brass
quintet, in performances by a fabulous array of international star
soloists and ensembles, including guitarist Roberto Limon, violinist
Gregory Fulkerson, Maestro Paul Freeman and the Czech National Symphony
Orchestra, clarinetists Stanley and Naomi Drucker, the American Brass
Quintet, flutist Samuel Baron, pianists Gilbert Kalish, and Christopher
