Exactly my point.  I don't believe I mentioned it in my earlier postings but
he most certainly uses the the ostinato in other registers.  This is
ABSOLUTELY consistent with the Baroque Passacaglia.  As I mentioned earlier,
I have played a Passacaglia by many different Baroque composers for lute.
They often times feature the ostinato in the uppermost register.  I don't
really ever recall hearing this in a ground.  Chaconne's, as I said before,
are really much more different from grounds or passacaglias than the latter
two are from each other.
