Jocelyn Wang reacts negatively to the news to the new of Austrian conductor
Franz Welser-Most succeeding Christoph von Dohnanyi as the Cleveland.

I can't say von Dohnanyi has done anything remarkable in his career at
Cleveland. He represents the old German style of playing it straight,
without much lyricism or emotion.

Conversely, I've been very pleased with Welser-Most's EMI recordings.
Given that Cleveland is perhaps the best American symphony, and perhaps
the best in the world, most of this greatness has come from visiting
conductors, not von Dohnanyi.

I think the future bodes well for the Cleveland patrons.
