I feel I ought to reply since I based my email address on the story of the
writing on the wall. I do agree, except that for my money the "Sing aloud
... make a joyful noise" section goes on far too long, or perhaps I should
say weighed in the balance and found excessive.  Gerard Manley Hopkins's
dictum that "He enhances worth who guardedly diminishes" applies in this
case.  Walton just got carried away.  Mr Sinclair should perhaps give "The
Twelve" a hearing.
