Patrik would like a list of recommendable Naxos recordings. I've been
getting a lot of pleasure out of Thiollier's Debussy series. He compares
well with the high-priced spread.

Patrik also mentioned how Gramophone often recommends Naxos recordings on
the basis of their super budget prices. That also happens with the other
major review magazines. I think there's a particular signal in that type
of recommendation - "the Naxos release can't stand up well to the full
price competition."

Just as often, I read Naxos reviews where there is a strong favorable
opinion in comparison to full price issues. Those are the ones to be
interested in, although I have found much less than what I expected in some
cases. Unfortunately, there are a few reviewers who tend to apply lower
standards to Naxos releases, and that's to the detriment of readers trying
to obtain good advice and insight.
