The point is that you don't always want to share with everyone a discussion
which may be of interest only to you and the other person.  I imagine the
reason most of us are on the List is because we know very few people who
share our passion for CM and this gives us a chance to share our ideas and
read what others think.  Although I've only been on the list for a matter
of months, I've shared private e-mails with quite a number of fellow
Listers.  I see this as a hugely valuable fringe benefit of the List,
because not only do you discuss music but you soon discover other interests
in common.  If Patrik cares to write to me privately, no problem, I'll
reply, and so would nearly everyone.
