Platts, making her U.S.  debut in Eugene last year at age 25 (cq), was as
green as anything, but she moved me to this rhapsody:

Broad and resonant, strong and seamless, a gorgeous, special voice,
attention-grabber, Horne-ish truck-wide -- it's a voice that could easily
develop into one of great heroic mezzos 10, 15, 20 years from now.
