I don't know much about his background (except that he is a Norwegian) but
he's an up-and-coming artist that the classical world should keep an eye
on. I've never seen him perform live but his recordings are fine and worth
hearing. Among my recommendations are:

(1) Janacek - Piano Pieces - Virgin label
(2) Nielsen - Piano Pieces - Virgin label
