That was my approach when I started collecting too, and crossing the
multiple-performance barrier (can't remember what the piece in question
was) feels in retrospect like having unleashed Niagara Falls into my
living room.  Fortunately there still are many repertoire areas where
I'm still content to have one serviceable recording.
