Bill Blank writes about the Hough/ECO recording of the A minor and B minor
Concertos:

>I wonder why I have never encountered them before or heard of a live
>performance. I would think they would be very popular.

I would also, but there are hundreds of great classical compositions
that are infrequently recorded and heard in concert. As it happens, the
Hough disc on Chandos has been around for over 10 years, and I definitely
consider it the best single disc of Hummel Concertos of any type. If
memory serves, the disc was the recipient of a Grammophone award. Even
so, no bandwagon was created on behalf of Hummel. For the most part,
concert audiences have no idea what they are missing, as programmers
continue to trot out the Tchaikovsky, Liszt, Schumann, Grieg, etc.
