I'm very glad also.  We are really "cookin" now.  I hope that others
investigate the Ropartz/Timpani cd.  For all I know, John and I might
be two of just 20 or so persons in the States who bought the disc.  John
mentioned that the Timpani disc was priced at $19.95 (a little more than 3
Naxos cd's) in a Tower in San Francisco.  I bought the cd off the net with

Actually, I can only think of two chamber music recordings I bought within
the past 12 months which I didn't find very favorable.  One was a MDG disc
of string quartets by Romberg - totally insipid stuff which would make the
worst chamber works from Haydn and Mozart sound like music of the Gods.
The other, chamber works of Paul Ladmirault, wasn't bad at all except that
I found a distinct lack of variety among the works on the disc from Skarbo.
