Quoting Jane Erb <[log in to unmask]>:

>Early 1900s, what about Amy Marcy Cheney Beach (who chose to write as
>Mrs. H.H. Beach)?

I wouldn't say chose. Dr. Beach, her husband was very controlling of
her, and practically forbade her to pursue her career as a pianist. He
insisted that when she did publish her music, that it be under the moniker
of Mrs. H. H. A. Beach. He was a real winner that one!
