When I was in the third grade, my teacher, Mrs. Jett, who was a fine
visual artist, taught us about abstract paintings in one of her art
lessons. To inspire us, she played a cassette tape of movements from
classical music. I distinctly remember two works: Handel's Water Music
and Holst's Planets.

From there I was hooked. We weren't able to afford records in any
quantity at the time, but our local public library had a massive collection
of classical LPs that circulated. From there, I learned the music of
Beethoven and Bach, the wonders of Debussy and Ravel, the perfection of
Mozart and Haydn.

Thanks to Mrs. Jett, who if she is still alive is well past ninety, I
became enamoured with Classical music and went on to make it my career.

Kevin
