I ordered the Delos disc of Hovhaness string quartets, it arrived,
and I think it's great so far. Whenever I'm having trouble getting
into a particular composer or style, chamber music often gives me a new
perspective. It has variety of instruments, yet each one can be listened
to intently.

In addition to Hovhaness, are there any other composers who wrote chamber
music in a similar style?

On another thread, I had decided that a disc of Cerha string quartets would
be on my "to get" list. There really was no rational reason for me to go
that route as I've never heard Cerha; I was in a contrary mood. Anyways,
could someone provide me with an idea of Cerha's style?
