Greenwich House Arts Announces Season Two of Women's Work - Three
Concert Series on March 3, 17 and 31

Greenwich House Arts announces season two of Women's Work, a series
co-produced by Greenwich House Arts and New York Women Composers, Inc.
The three-concert series, hosted by composer Beth Anderson features
recent works by living women composers.  Performances will take place
on three Thursdays - March 3, 17 and 31 - 8 PM each evening.  All
performances will be held in the Renee Weiler Concert Hall at Greenwich
House Music School, 46 Barrow Street, New York City (between Seventh
Avenue South and Bedford St.).

Women's Work 2005 commences on Thursday, March 3 with chamber works and
songs performed by the Aviva Players, which celebrates its 30th season
this year.  The program includes String Quartet (1995) by Joelle Wallach;
Fantasy on 'Adamant ' by Mara Waldman; String Quartet No.2 - Mind Games
(2003) by Binnette Lipper; Two songs on poems by William Dickey (1999)
by Mira J.Spektor: Therefore for unaccompanied solo voice and The White
Road of Summer for voice and piano; four songs on poems by Ruth Whitman
(1975)by Mira J.Spektor: My Daughter the Cypress, The Phoenix, Aubade
and Round...with Violin &Cello and Dreams of Flying (1994)by Victoria
Bond.

Artists performing on this program include Constance Beavon, mezzo-soprano;
Mara Waldman, piano and the Lumina String Quartet (Asya Meshberg, violin;
Lynn Bechtold, violin; Boris Deviatov, viola and Jennifer Devore, cello).

Admission to this concert is $15 general, $10 for students and seniors.

Women's Work continues on Thursday, March 17 at 8pm with works for solo
piano, Dr.  Claudia Knafo performing.  The series concludes on Thursday,
March 31 at 8pm with works for saxophone quartet, piano, cello and
combinations performed by The CASE Saxophone Quartet and CASE Ensemble.

The Aviva Players, an acclaimed chamber ensemble, was founded in 1975
by Artistic Director Mira J.  Spektor to research, present and perform
the rich repertoire of chamber music and songs by women composers of the
12th to 21st Centuries.  The Aviva ensemble has been heard in concert
halls, churches, temples and universities in New York City, the tri-state
area and Palm Beach, FL, and has produced three half-hour TV documentaries
