I would like to hear a Requiem by Mendelssohn. For the moment, I will
cave in to critics of Mendelssohn and admit that there would probably be a
lack of angst in a Mendelssohn Mass for the Departed but I imagine on the
whole the work could be uplifting. Elijah and the Psalms show that he was
definitely capable of writing choral music. And FWIW I think that those
who gripe about Mendelssohn's music being lightweight are really missing
out.

Come to think who better to write a Requiem then Mahler who seemed to think
about Death constantly anyway and used choirs in two of his Symphonies.
Didn't he convert to to Catholicism?
