On the praise and promise of a melodic Varese, I purchased the Chailly set.
I actively listened until I could take no more.  "Melodic" is a stretch
here, and is such only by comparison to Cage, et alia.

I've put the set in my "sell" shelf.  Perhaps someone can persuade me that
this is really masterful stuff, that it's worth repeated hearings, and that
I've not given Varese a full hearing.  Otherwise, this set is history.
