First, we have listmembers who want to regulate how other audience members
behave at concerts. Now, there are listmembers who want to regulate the
particular body movements made by conductors at concerts.

Perhaps a Federal law could be enacted prescribing what modes of operation
are allowed for the audience, performers, and directors. These elected
representatives would also likely mandate the works which would be
permitted at concerts. End result - national uniformity and satisfaction.
It's a brave new world.

[Why is it that when someone on this list expresses a strong criticism
of anything - artists, performance practice, compositional styles, etc.
 - people automatically jump to enacting laws? Must all criticism result
in legislation to be ueful? Bizarre. It's my belief we can discuss
our preferences, peeves, and disappointents without resorting to this
 strange rhetoric. -Dave]
