Steven Blier is returning to San Francisco for yet another "new and
unusual" program for the SF Opera's Adler Fellows - songs (mostly
rarely-performed in recent times) by opera composers:

Michael William Balfe (Trust her not); Vincenzo Bellini (La ricordanza);
Georges Bizet (Adieux a Suzon); Gaetano Donizetti (La gelosia and La
zingara); George Gershwin (Till Then); Charles Gounod (Aimons-nous and
Venise); Ruggero Leoncavallo (L'andalouse and La chanson des yeux);
Pietro Mascagni (M'ama.non m'ama and Serenata); Jules Massenet (Revons,
c'est l'heure and Sevillana); Giacomo Meyerbeer (Sie und ich); John Musto
(Calypso); Amilcare Ponchielli (Il pellegrino, il trovatore ed il
cavaliere); Gioacchino Rossini (La regata veneziana); Saint-Saens (Si
vous n'avez rien a me dire); Arthur Sullivan (Orpheus with his Lute);
Giuseppe Verdi (Stornello); Amadeo Vives (El ritrato de Isabela and La
presumida); Richard Wagner (Tout n'est qu'images fugitives); and Ermanno
Wolf-Ferrari (Rispetto #1).

The Schwabacher Recital will be held at Temple Emanu-El, at 5:30, Sunday,
with Blier at the piano, accompanying sopranos Jane Archibald and Elza
van den Heever, tenor Jeremy Little and baritone Lucas Meachem.

For another (relative) opera rarity in the area tomorrow, see Berkeley
Opera's 2 p.m. performance, at the Julia Morgan Theater, of the complete
Puccini "Il Trittico" - http://www.berkeleyopera.org/season.html#TRITTICO.
